Tom's Blog: Board of Regents Innovation Fund Awards

Last year, the Board of Regents allocated $250,000 to an Innovation Fund to support innovative projects and research initiatives on campus.  Last week at their February meeting, they voted to approve funding for five faculty projects.  You can find out more about those projects here.

It was an honor to be asked by President Benson and the Board to coordinate this process and I would like to thank the committee, representing each college:

  • Dr. Javier Alvarez – College of Liberal Arts & Social Science
  • Dr. Dana Bush – College of Health Science
  • Dr. Lindsay Calderon – College of Science
  • Regent Richard Day – Faculty Representative
  • Dr. Greg Gorbett – College of Justice & Safety
  • Regent Bryan Makinen – Staff Representative
  • Dr. Jerry Pogatshnik – Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
  • Dr. Beth Pollin – College of Business & Technology

I would like to thank Chairman Diaz and the Board for their vision, as well as Provost Pogatshnik and Dr. David McFaddin for their early support and guidance.
