Kentucky Artisan Center at BereaEastern Kentucky University's Center for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship and Technology's (CEDET) work involves several focus areas:

  • Entrepreneurship training and the development of an entrepreneurial culture

  • Kentucky's new economy through the Department of Commercialization Innovation

CEDET works to promote economic development in economically distressed areas utilizing university resources. Interdisciplinary teams of EKU faculty, staff, and students work on projects that promote economic development. Our work is not restricted to the focus areas listed above.

Work Programs

  • Strategic Planning - CEDET provides assistance to communities, organizations and businesses through the development of strategic plans. Services include planning design, public meetings, facilitated group discussions, research and report writing.

  • Meeting Facilitation - is a service offered by CEDET which involves meeting facilitator who meets with the client to determine the purpose of the meeting and the desired outcomes.
